Vintage Sports First Day Covers: Bobby Jones, Steelers & Pie Traynor – With 22K Gold Stamps
This lot features a collection of three (3) vintage First Day Covers from the Postal Commemorative Society. The covers commemorate significant sporting moments: * Celebrate The Century 1930-1939: Bobby Jones Wins Grand Slam, featuring a cancelled postage stamp and First Day Postmark. * 1970-1979 Steelers Win Four Super Bowls, featuring a cancelled postage stamp and First Day Postmark. * Legends of Baseball Pie Traynor, featuring a cancelled postage stamp and First Day Postmark. Each cover measures approximately 7 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and is in very nice, clean condition. Accompanying the covers are two original cards with brief histories of Bobby Jones and Pie Traynor’s careers. The Steelers FDC did not include its corresponding card. Additionally, each cover comes with a 22K gold leaf replica of the featured postage stamp.
