Antique 1903 Robinson Crusoe by Defoe – Signed & Illustrated, Hurst & Co.
This antique hard cover book, published in 1903 by Hurst & Co., features Daniel Defoe’s classic novel “Robinson Crusoe”. The red cloth cover features the title and author in bright gold lettering on the spine. Measuring approximately 7 3/8″ X 5 1/4″ X 1 1/8″ thick, this book opens to a fly page signed “PRESENTED TO MARTIN BABB, ON HIS TENTH BIRTHDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1903”. While the cover page and first page are firmly attached, there is a tear at the spine. Inside, the 452 pages are tight, secure, and complete, although they have yellowed with age. This well-preserved collectible offers a glimpse into literary history.
