Vintage 1940s BSA Neckerchief Slide – Handmade Shell Casing with Dated Gun Club Card

This vintage Boy Scouts of America neckerchief slide dates back to the 1940s and is a unique piece from a large collection spanning from the late 1930s to the 1970s. The slide is crafted from four repurposed 30-30 empty shell casings, including “Western 30-30”; (2) “WRA Co. 30 W.C.F.”; and “U.S.C. Co. 30-30”. A handmade silver and red painted target is attached to the front, along with a ring on the back for securing it to a neckerchief. Accompanying the slide is an “Honorary” membership card from the Boyertown Rod & Gun Association, Inc., of Boyertown, PA, dated 1943 and handwritten with “Douglas Sell, 43′”, and “Arthur Heere”. This card signifies that Douglas Sell paid his dues for the year 1943. The slide and card offer a glimpse into Boy Scout history and the traditions associated with hunting and marksmanship.
