Antique Edwardian Silver Washed Mother of Pearl & Rhinestone Pin c.1900
This exquisite antique Edwardian silver-washed mother of pearl and rhinestone pin is a captivating piece from the turn of the century. Dating back to the early 1900s, this unmarked pin showcases an abstract openwork design. It weighs approximately 2.2 grams and measures about 2 1/8″ x 1 3/8″. The pin features remnants of a bright silver wash on both the front and back, adding a touch of vintage elegance. A polished, lustrous mother of pearl centerpiece, measuring approximately 1 1/2″ x 2.7mm wide, is securely held in place by prongs. Two faceted glass foiled rhinestones are also prong-set within the frame, enhancing the pin’s sparkle and sophistication. The bar and pin mechanism is a separate piece, securely clamped to the pin and in good working order. Although much of the silver wash has faded over time, this pin remains a charming example of early period costume jewelry.
