Antique Spun Silver Shell Cameo Brooch – JCR Marked, Victorian Lady Portrait
This exquisite antique spun silver carved shell cameo pin or brooch is a timeless piece of jewelry history. Marked “JCR” on the back, it weighs approximately 3.5 grams and measures about 1 3/8″ x 5/8″. The intricately crafted diamond shape features an applied crimped border, open spun silver work, and a raised bezel set carved shell cameo. The cameo depicts the profile of a beautiful young lady with wavy hair, a draped bodice, and a flower adorning her shoulder. The clasp, a barrel with pin and C clasp, further speaks to its age.
