1908 Mummers Parade Ribbon – Swatara Haymakers, Reading PA – Rare Historical Artifact
Offered for sale is a remarkable piece of Pennsylvania history: a large gold satin ribbon from the 1908 Mummers Parade in Reading, PA. Measuring approximately 8 1/2″ x 2 3/4″, this stunning ribbon features clear black printing detailing the “Swatara Haymakers’ Association, No. 276 1/2, Lebanon, PA.” and their participation as “Guest of Juniata Haymakers’ Association, No. 74 1/2” in the parade. The ribbon is adorned with wonderful “Hayloft” graphics evocative of the Mummers Parade tradition. While displaying some staining consistent with its age, this incredibly well-preserved artifact from 1908 remains a captivating testament to Pennsylvania’s rich cultural heritage.
