Antique 1883 Gold Filled Bloodstone Collar Button – Hand Cut Cabochon
This exquisite antique collar button dates back to 1883 and boasts a captivating bloodstone cabochon. The back of the setting is clearly marked with the patent date, “Pt. DEC. 18, 1883”, testament to its rich history. Crafted from gold-filled material, it weighs approximately 1.5 grams and features a polished hinged setting measuring about 10mm square x 3.3mm thick. The gold-filled button on the back measures approximately 9.3mm in diameter, allowing for easy swinging action. The centerpiece of this piece is a hand-cut and polished bloodstone cabochon, measuring roughly 7.4mm x 7.2mm. Despite its age of 138 years, this collar button remains in very nice condition and functions perfectly.
